Infants/Toddlers
Infants:  6 weeks- 17 months
Developmental care of your infant begins with meeting his/her basic needs of health, safety, cleanliness, and proper nutrition.
Our caregivers will provide tranquility with loving, nurturing attention to meet his/her emotional needs. Our Nursery setting also provides stimulation and opportunities for learning.
Babies experience their world through the senses- touching a soft blanket, sucking their fingers, watching a mobile move, mimicking their caregivers voice, listening to music.
These experiences are the stepping stones of learning by shaping their understanding of cause and effect and spatial relations.
During infancy, a child learns and grows more than any other time of his/her life.
We are excited to be a part of this amazing time and will partner with you to develop your baby's Individualized Care Plan based upon his/her unique personality and level of development.
Toddlers- 18-23 months
A toddler's curiosity is endless!
They investigate everything within reach, striving to learn the how and why of the world they live in.
This is a time of tremendous learning.
We believe that a predictable routine each day allows children to excel in early learning.  We provide a structured schedule that provides Toddlers with security they need to confidently explore their world.
We strive to balance structured learning with playtime.
HDLC will focus on the following areas-
**language development
**creative expression
**exploration
**music and movement for large motor skills
**manipulatives for small motor development
Since this is the rapidly developing stage of language acquisition, much of their instruction will be with songs, chants, rhymes, and simple Bible stories and other stories.
Additionally, socialization skill development will be paramount.
It is at this early time in a Toddler's life that we set the stage for manners, empathy, kindness, listening and following directions, taking turns, grace before meals, etc.
The old adage "children learn what they live" is so true!
Our commitment to parents is to provide daily oral and written communication about your Toddler's day, ensuring a smooth transition from home to Nursery.
